The Mods
Hey guys~ Its Lizzy here.
I work with the Lake Court, Shadow Court, and Autumn court in a majority of my practices. I also sometimes work with Winter court and “The Grays” and “The Whites” clans.
I’ve been practicing witchcraft for 5 almost 6 years now, and I’ve been working with faeries for 3 (going on 4 soon). I am a pagan that practices a folklore based fairy faith religion, which focuses on faelatry (faery honoring). I gain a lot of my fairy faith stuff based from personal experience, folklore, and modern sources.
I also take the name of Courtmaiden. Someone who works with faeries in a majority of her practices. I tend to focus on both local fae and Arcadian (Faeland) fae. Though, I do also practice with traveling faeries as well.
I hope that both this blog and the main website will help spread information about faeries, and help everyone learn more than they ever could alone.

My URL is ittybittynymphette, but please call me Laney c: I’m a worker of a northeastern fae court (which I am currently prohibited from giving the name.) and I also have experiences with the Spring and Marsh Court. The fae I’m typically used to working with are pixies, flora pixies, brownies and I have spoken with/made acquaintances with a few fauns and dryads. I currently work more so with the local fae in my area of Portland, OR. I also work with a few deities (Hermes, Lilith, Apollo and Eros.) Amateur energy-worker and a pretty big *~woo~* practitioner. Excited to speak with everyone!

My name is Samantha but I mostly go by Sam. I don’t have any titles that I go by, however, I’m affectionately called Moon Princess by some individuals and fae. I’m currently a grad student trying to earn my Masters in Celtic Studies.
My first experience with fae is that they came to me rather than have me searching for them. Ever since then I’ve been wrapped up into their world; learning about them, learning that my own guardian is a fae, connecting with a fae court (specifically the Moon Court) and various other practices. I generally work with Welsh-orientated fae but I do have some experiences with Irish and Scottish (and I’m sure others from other places). The two that I am closest with are Taran and Carwyn while Trevelian is like a teacher for me when it comes to asking about courts, politics, and etc. Though I generally have at least 13 or so hanging around me; but they generally come and go as they please.
Also, some of my beliefs in fae are somewhat different from popular belief because of the experiences I’ve had. So I will share how I approach fae and my conclusions about them:
The term faery to me is an umbrella term for entities, sometimes legendary (such as the Tuatha de Danann), in European folklore that cannot physically say a lie. Untruths are a different matter entirely but this is due to the fact that fae have centuries of practice to learn how to dance around the truth without telling a lie. I do not believe that majority of fae have wings, and I have read that it was 18th and 19th century painters who added wings to “fluff” them up from their darker tales. I have never met a fae that has fluttering wings on their backs, and Taran tells me that most likely I will only see them on very small fae or on pixies. In fact, the fae I work with daily would be offend if I tried seeing them with wings.
I also do not believe in the Seelie and Unseelie courts or a Seelie and Unseelie monarchy. Seelie and Unseelie are human classifications first seen in Rev. Robert Kirk’s writings on fae to indicate an easy way to say good-evil. So if Unseelie and Seelie are categorized terms created by humans, so why would fae, who are prideful entities, use a human classification for their court systems? How it was explained to me by some fae I worked with is that Seelie and Unseelie terms refer more to mind sets than anything. A fae could be Seelie (order and justice) one day and Unseelie the next (chaotic and doing their own thing). I’ve noticed that none of my Welsh fae ever refer to these classifications or these mind sets, but the Irish and Scottish fae have. Personally, I hate using the terms Seelie and Unseelie terms. It feels like I am degrading my fae into a classification and they aren’t. They are some far more precious to me than that.
That doesn’t mean others can’t disagree with my conclusions, and doesn’t mean I will attack others if their beliefs on fae are different than mine. I may challenge every once in awhile, but it’s generally out of the want to learn.
My faery blog is blushingfae.tumblr.com. If you have any questions you want to ask my specifically relating to fae, please send it to that account and not my main one that is listed on this group.
